I guess I'm not a Canonical or M$ visionary!

TSBDFL has sunk at least $10/year into Ubuntu since he started it. That was a figure he gave in a German magazine several years ago, which was almost immediately edited to take that figure out of the story. When he first started Ubuntu (Canonical) he was giving away install CDs for free. IIRC, before the release of the first LTS, 12.04, he stopped the free giveaway program. I can't blame him for wanting to monetize Ubuntu to recover some of his money, if not make a profit. He only got $500 million for THWART (sp?) and spent $120 million on a ride into space aboard the Russian spacecraft. So, if his investments haven't paid off he could be down to a paltry $250 Million!
