Right now, I have Kubuntu 16.04.1 LTS running off of a USB stick in a test drive mode. So far, I really like what I see...it's not too intensive on my laptop and it's been connecting right up on WiFi without any issues right off the bat, both at home and at work.
I probably will get a USB stick set for Kubuntu 14.04 just in case though.
