The state of "broadband" in the UK

A report has been produced indicating the fastest and slowest broadband speeds in the UK. In this day and age where it is now almost compulsory to have broadband at home, that for a lot of residents broadband is so slow that it makes using the internet painful to use.

I believe that the cause of this is simply down to under investing of the telecoms network by BT (British Telecom). BT is a company that was privatised by Margaret Thatcher and the Conservative Government in the 80's claiming that it would benefit its customers and improve standards in the telecoms industry. All it has done, as far as I can see, is generate huge profits that really only benefit its shareholders.

The source of my anger can be found here -> http://www.independent.co.uk/life-st...-10100757.html

Interesting, not, because it does not hold water any of it,
BT, other wise known as Bloody Terable. and always has been, more like a Dictatorship.

What it does not show are the communities that got off there backsides and did something about it, instead of waiting for someone else to do it. which is about the norm for the UK.

Mind you if Gordon had not given the countrys gold away when Liebour where in power, there would have been plenty of cash to pay for extending the network.

i have BT infinity which is FttC which gives me decent BB speeds but there was no other option
where i live there is no other cable (fibre) supplier and BT knows this

so if BT has a captive market why should they bother with expensive upgrades as in certain parts of the country there is no other option including diy ...
      Hope this helps. Steve ...
Nothing travels faster than the speed of light, except bad news.

Sounds like another "satisfied" customer. Mr Riley, I think you may need to improve your customer service skills.

You're right, Nick. Next time I'll strive for a quicker turnaround. 29 minutes is absolutely unacceptable!

Reminds me a little of this: Angry man regrets telling commuter to go f*** himself | Metro News ...
But then later that evening Matt was conducting an interview, and who should turn up? The guy who was rude to him on the Tube.

How do I always miss the excitement?

Anyhow, this person somehow sounds vaguely familiar. It is bugging me, and that bugging is ticking me off.

You asked about his claim to "be a distributor for ku" in the ibus-daemon thread. My request for clarification here made his head explode.
