Well as everyone knows Brits love long discussions about the weather, so I'm not complaining... except about the weather, that is. It's raining, obviously!

The obvious solution to the problem is to use the pipe command.
cp 100 Quad BTU LA | Indianapolis

During the 1974 Arab oil embargo I switched from Propane to an Ashly Warm Morning wood burning stove, with a chain saw and mall as accessories. Used it for the next six years. Wonderful heat.

Furnace going in tomorrow. Then we can stop using all these space heaters. Warm in living room and bedrooms, cold in the rest of the house. Latest electric bill - $634. Thankful for budget billing, but still running $333 with that. Like april to nov in Indianapolis. Liked oct-may when I lived in Mesa, AZ. Couldn't find enough work to support us there. Plus, we bought a house here (lots cheaper). Especially with no mortgage

if I get it really cooking (and yes I have cooked on it during a power outage) you half to open windows to cool things back down some even in the single digits

The disadvantage of a pellet stove is that you need electricity to operate it. If the power goes out the stove goes out. A wood stove is more practical in areas where there is extreme weather and frequent power outages.

At least it "warmed up" here in Indianapolis to 17.

    Hate single digit temps.

Anyone else have a heater right next to their computer?

25 C (that's 77 F for the backward), hot sun, cool sea breeze. Been like this and mid to high 20s since some good rain in early December, except for 1 or 2 days... best summer for a long time.
