    Show us some desktop action!

    My desktop:
Kubuntu 14.10, with Plasma 5 Added
Kodi as a border-less full-screen window so that I can minimize it quickly as needed.

    Boring, but functional.

Wow, Snowhog, that's so clean I don't see anything on it. Voice activated?
Claydoh, I like you Plasma 5 desktop. Seems pretty snappy. What'ch running it on?
Vinny, your video is just spinning the busy wheel, both here and on YouTube.

An HP 600 pro "small form factor" pc, running a dual core Pentium 2.8, 4 gb ram and a GT GeForce GT 610 half-height fanless gpu, It was still pretty snappy using the on-board intel graphics.

                      LOL ,,,,,,,,,I get that .

by the way ,,,, on the part of your screencast where you show the avconv web page TUT. ,,,,,,,their is an error in the explanation of the command ,,,,,,where it sead
-i :0.0 is where we want to set our recording start point, leave it like this
is wrong it is not the start point, but the input device , -i (is input) :0.0(the primary display)

                      I used this
                      Code:
                      avconv -f x11grab -s hd1080 -r 25 -i :0.0 out.mp4
and if I was trying to capture sound as well (from the speaker line)
                      Code:
                      avconv -f pulse -i [COLOR=#ff0000]alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo.monitor[/COLOR] -f x11grab -s hd1080 -r 25 -i :0.0 out.mp4
if I wanted to get the microphone I would change the part in red to
                      alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo
                      I use
                      Code:
                      pactl list sources | less
to get the name of the device .

                        Code:
                        avconv -f x11grab -s hd1080 -r 25 -i :0.0 out.mp4
Won't work for everyone. I don't have HD capability with my GPU.

It happens that mine is a hd1080 HD-display
