I could use your expert and experienced tips here. Samsung Galaxy Pro 8.4 tablet, running Kit Kat. I noticed the PBS-Frontline site (and other sites) requires the "latest version of Flash Player" to run its archived episodes of Frontline (videos), but that "your device does not support such ..." So I checked Google Play store, see some things (like how to install Flash for Android etc.). So how does one (one who happens to be an Android user) get around this Flash requirement, best/easiets/safest/surest way to do so, requesting the voice of experience? Thanks.

Did you see this site? How to Install Flash Player on Android 4.4.2/4.4.3/4.4.4 KitKat!Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

No, I hadn't see that site. Seems like lots of opinions about the browser. One suggestion was mercury browser. Your site prefers Dolphin. Another says Firefox. Preferences as to browsers that support Flash. So, if this is it, then (1) get a Flash browser, and (2) get that APK file, then (3) Install. So it seems. An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way. Charles Bukowski

I'm getting a quick education on this. No longer in Google Play store. You download it (Flash Player) from an archive for Adobe Flash for Android devices, and so on. I now wonder about security issues ... There's tons of articles to read on this, so that's where I'll be in spare time! Thanks. An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. A good summary of a good solution:
http://www.techradar.com/downloads/a...er-for-android
I haven't actually done it yet, but I'll mark this SOLVED. Still open for comments, insights, new info, etc.
EDIT
The download in that link gives you an .exe file (which you don't want). You want the APK file (like install_...cs.apk). The article, though, is good.
Here, here's an outline of everything you need, at basically two sites: Mozilla support and Adobe (for Android):
Flash Player on [Samsung = Android] Tablet
Using Firefox browser (it supports Flash) -- first, use Google Play store to install Firefox.
Mozilla support
Firefox for Android
Customize controls, options and add-ons

Archived Flash Player versions

Scroll all the way down to Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives
Choose the correct version for your device.
For Android 4.+ -->
FlashPlayer 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.81)
Use this how-to at Adobe:
Manually install on Android devices
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/...d-devices.html
... which just in case, I'll copy the steps here:
Ensure that the Android device is connected to the Internet.
- Open the Settings menu.
- Select Security (or Applications, on older Android OS versions).
- Select Unknown Sources.
- Tap OK to confirm your selection.
- Close Settings.
- Launch the browser.
- Search for "flash player archive page" or navigate directly to the Adobe Flash Player Archive page.
- On the Archive page, scroll down to Flash Player for Android archives.
- Select a version of Flash Player that is compatible with your Android operating system.
- Tap the link to download the Flash Player installer. Download begins automatically.
- When download completes, close the browser.
- Open Notifications.
- Tap install_flash_player.apk.
- When prompted, tap Install.
- When installation completes, tap Done.
Note in Firefox the Tap-to-Play feature
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...irefox-android
So to play a Flash video, you first tap the gray box saying you need a plug-in to play it.
Or ...
You can turn that safety feature off in your Adroid Firefox browser Menu > Settings > Display > Advanced > Plugins > Tap to PlayLast edited by Qqmike; Jan 12, 2015, 08:13 AM.An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way. Charles Bukowski

Interesting - Frontline videos play for me just fine in Chrome, FF, and Lightning on my flash-less phone, and on my tablet as well (used TiBu to remove it there). I wonder how the site determines which format to deliver the video by?

The link at TechRadar in Post #9 for the Flash download seems incorrect (it gives you an .exe file instead of the APK file you want for Android). Thus, I edited Post #9 to include a step-by-step how-to with correct links. An intellectual says a simple thing in a hard way. An artist says a hard thing in a simple way. Charles Bukowski
