P.S - my wife and I got two iPhones for only $90 a month because my son had two extra lines on their family plan and all we pay for are the two extra lines. The big reason was that they got tired of not being able to text us because our flip phone service did not include texting.Siri is a touchy robot, and when it takes voice dictation for posting to this web it ignores spaces between words and between sentences. Still, for the most part, it is better than using the virtual keyboard. Even so, when repairing Siri's mistakes the editing process is clumsy. It is difficult to place the insertion bar where you want it, like at the front of a sentence or the beginning of a mgs. Tap talk is not much of an improvement.Sent from my iPhoneusing TapatalkP.S.-- I notice that even when editing from my web browser when I post of save the msg all end of sentence and paragraph spacing is clipped out, compressing everything into one big blob of text!Last edited by GreyGeek; Dec 31, 2014, 11:47 AM."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

I completely understand. I use Utter for android, probably the best thing next to Siri that I know of. Whenever I text my wife using my bluetooth, I have to keep the sentences pretty simple and easy for Utter to understand, otherwise it'll be nothing but gobbledygook with no way of comprehending the actual message.
But I'd never go as far as to dictate a message with it. Heck, I don't even like using my phone to post. I almost always use my desktop or laptop to post or write something. It's just so much easier.
On a side note, during the holidays, I almost grabbed a tablet. I saw several good deals and thought they might be fun to play with. Then I remembered how horrible it is to mess with my android phone (Samsung Galaxy III) to get anything done; the tediousness of it and, even fleshed out, how hard it is to do anything with that awful touchscreen interface. I do not understand how anyone can do any real work for any length of time without throwing the darn things out the window in frustration. As far as I know, they're only good for reading, browsing, and maybe watching some TV.
Or maybe I'm just getting old. I'm only 37.

I am using Siri to post this message.I shake too much to use tap and talk or the virtual keyboard to enter text, so Siri is working pretty good for me. It misunderstands some words but on the whole isn't any worse than I am!
P.S.- I'm closing in on 74.Last edited by GreyGeek; Jan 01, 2015, 04:33 PM."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

And on the inside I feel like 28 (A tired 28 but definately 28)!
I have a four year old 10" iPad which my wife and I use to watch movies via Amazon while cuddling under the electric blanket!
My new iPhone6 plus has a voice-to-text (Dragon?) capability and I use it to write the bulk of my mgs to this forum. Pulling up a URL and a quoted passage is definately a LOT easir on my laptop than on my iPhone, but it can be done on the iPhone."A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”
