    Website "stealing" KFN threads

    Check this out: I found a site that is reproducing conversations from KFN, but going to some trouble to make it seem like other people were having the conversation:

    ... which is a duplicate of this thread:

    but with our usernames switched out for fake usernames on the other site. I discovered it from an incoming link to my site.

            The sad thing is all you people trying to help this person are really just wasting your time...
            The other "people" are bots too (I haven't changed my name to nadin!). I'm just surprised someone went to the trouble of creating new accounts for each user and submitting each post again.

            Like you said it could be for advertising revenue, but could it also be a clever spam bot copying some legitimate posts to make itself seem like a human? Maybe there's a more trusted role available once you have made a certain number of valid posts or something.

                      Weird. I've seen bots that hoover content from web sites and reuse it, but forum posts? With fake names? That's a new one.
