    Man Laptops sure have become a commodity. Kind of like buying a cheap calculator. Won't be long before you can get them at the dollar store. Wonder what Linux they are putting on those? Those specs look pretty awful, but I guess at $200 they are passable. However you can get double the ram, better cpu, bigger HDD for just $50 more. No Linux tho.

      The $200 HP is just competition to Google's Chromebook. Both are just "browse & email" machines, which probably fits the use patter of 90% of computer users. For the extra $50 that your quote costs you get more RAM and Win 8.1. Don't know if HP has configured that $250 box to allow an alternate OS to be installed.

            Dang, and to think I just got hold of a 15.4 inch core 2 duo laptop for 27 dollars, sans HD, wifi, and power adapter ( I already have those). Needs a backlight though. I give up having HDMI, though, and a useful gpu.
