I put it on a dvd and ran it on an AMD 4200 with an NVIDIA 6600 card.
It loaded and the destkop appeared but the desktop did not render completely.
By random clicking I was able to see what I assume was the Dolphin filesystem with all of the normal folders, usr, etc. but the folders would not open when clicked.
Also by random clicking I was able to see the upper Dolphin file system, with pictures, documents, etc, but again not able to be opeed.
I tried failsafe mode and all that was presented was the terminal which was not functional.
Conclusion: it does, indeed require relatively high end hardware.
