Because it's in Linux relative easy to switch off/disable services until you have the bare minimum I don't see problems running Linux on a phone or tablet.
I do see advantages regarding privacy and that's a BIG thing these days.
Letting go of Google would be my priority, MS has gone years ago.

Once I was very happy with my Nokia n900 but it became a slug, something with better hardware is needed.
If my Nexus would fail I'd seriously consider a Jolla/Sailfish yet their present hardware isn't exactly future proof either.

Totally agree on the Jolla. Double whammy for me is no US radios, but I want a linux phone. I was one of the early investors in the Ubuntu Edge. I really wanted that phone. Awesome hardware and my fav OS on board. Different interface of curse, but I really wouldn't want KDE on a phone anyway.

One CAN run a full Kubuntu destkop on a phone........it is just a hassel, because......on a phone it is "all on the net"............

Did that, done that, using an old HTC.........sitting at the bar of the local ELKS.........but..........waste of time to me...

I donated the phone to somebody here on Kubuntu....

BUT................for HEAVY DUTY stuff, I, personally use a lappy or a tower or whatever....

and for most of my "work" each day...........i use an android phone............but................
