I love that origin story GreyGeek. As part of my Japanese heritage I was taught to hold my elders in the highest respect. So I respect anyone old than dirt. lol

Besides being older, Keith is a very mysterious person. When we met him eating in the commons we originally thought he was a homeless person. His manner of dress (see images) is leather strap sandals with no socks, old worn brown corduroy pants (thank God they are not bell bottoms), his shirts vary but most are just as bad and to top off this fashion nightmare a green army coat with his name and insignia (so at some point he was in the Canadian Armed forces). Making him appear like a militant version of Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.

But like I said his conspiracy stories are weird and off the wall. He believes in aliens and says that the governments are in league with each other. If you disagree he gets very irate and loud like a street preacher. His humor is very dry but he takes electronics and computer courses. When we were talking about browsers he swears they use the new tech to "control" us. So he uses Lynx. Asks if you have a "spy cam" hooked up to your PC before he sits down to look it over. Someone suggested he is wanted by the law, but as Steve said, you need ID and other photo docs to attend classes. He was saying how "they" can flash certain images on your browser that programs your mind. I didn't bother to ask him who "they" were, the aliens or the government officials.

@Steve: I am currently running Version 32.0.1700.107 I know you are talking Chomium and not Google Chrome but did you look for ~/.config/google-chrome/Default
I guess another option would be to change your settings then look for files that recently changed using a date search or the watch command.

I don't have that directory since I've never installed Chrome.

Also, given that Chad confirmed what I was seeing -- the profile is never saved -- I'm not going to experiment further with version 35. Resizing the window and installing my required extensions (Tabs to Front and User Agent Switcher) every time I start the browser is an unacceptable interruption to my workflow.

A few months ago I would have said that he is delusional and has serious mental problems. But now, except for the "alien" stuff, he may right. Considering what we know now about NSA spying, the IRS being used as a political weapon, drones, Legal Intercept, Echelon, etc.... he may be half right. Anyway, as long as he is harmless....

I suspect that the pilot took the plane to 45K feet, disabled the emergency mask system and then slowly de-pressurized the cabin. Everyone in the passenger compartment would have fallen asleep within a few minutes without ever suspecting a thing. (More than once I've taken a Cessna to 11K or 12K and my passengers who were smokers almost immediately fell asleep). The passengers would have been asphyxiated at 45K within 5 minutes of falling asleep, thus no problem with passengers cell phones. For seven hours several relatives of passengers called their family members on board the plane and got indications that the cell phones were active but the member didn't answer. After killing all the passengers the pilot then disabled the transponders and dropped rapidly below radar detection level and flew on to a pre-arranged destination.

What will they do with a Boeing 777? Repaint it as another commercial airline belonging to another country, load it with a nuclear weapon, and fly it to Israel or America. Merge it with other commercial traffic. Meanwhile, the aircraft it is replacing is silenced by a passenger carrying radio jamming equipment so that it cannot respond or indicate its presence, or it too is hijacked and dropped below radar level while the bogus plane flies on.

Hmmmm.... Interesting but eerily I can actually see that as a real possibility. We truly are in bad, bad times.

There are so, so many problems with this theory.
-Where did the stolen plane land? Its pretty hard to land a gigantic plane without anybody noticing.
-Why bother painting it as another airline?
-Why go through the trouble of getting a commercial airplane when it would be far, far easier to buy an old military transport plane or something?
-Where does this nuke come from?
-How would a stolen aircraft with an invalid/unregistered flight plan simply "merge" with other air traffic?
-How would this passenger get sophisticated radio jamming equipment through security?
-What about radar? I think it would soon become obvious that there were two planes flying.

A much simpler explanation is probably more likely. An electric fire forces the pilots to turn off electronics, including the transponder. The pilots turn toward the nearest airport, Langkawi, to attempt an emergency landing. However, smoke from the fire quickly spreads through the cabin, killing all on board. Auto pilot flies the plane out into the Indian Ocean until it runs out of fuel.

The older I get, the more insidious I believe many people's motives are... and quite simply I smell a smoking gun here. Someone(s) was out to do somebody wrong...to quote the Eagles.

The people who are out to do wrong is the media. The way the media is covering this is just disgusting. CNN actually aired a blackhole theory where the plane was swallowed up by a blackhole. Thats just stupid. The media is giving air to the most ridiculous, outlandish theories possible for ratings while overlooking the most plausible causes of the incident because they are boring. Then media is giving air time to people using Twitter who know absolutely nothing about airplanes, search and rescue, and apparently basic science instead of listening to pilots and other professionals who might actually give incite to the whole thing. And whats really sad is that people are eating it up like nachos in a famine. Logic is out the window.
