      Probably not. Starting with the Ubuntu One client, and now Unity, Canonical is moving toward Qt as its preferred toolkit. Besides being better (*), Qt also has a mobile presence, whereas Gtk+ really doesn't.

      (*) totally unbiased and completely factual opinion
