This may take some pertinent questioning from readers but I'll take a stab at it.
There is a current advert for Win8 surface in which an African American Lady, a postal worker who drives the mail truck(to help folks who may see the advert to relate to it) which "may" have a statement that is relavent to KDE plasma tablet software rollout.
The general gist of the advert is that she says something to the effect of:
"It has a keyboard and office on it so that I can do stuff"......notice the DO word.....like if you are typing on a wordprocessor you are somehow "doing" something as opposed to fiddling on facebook, where one is, evidently in the MS centric world, ..."NOT doing something".
The next sentence is the one which really intrigues me..... because MS does not spend money without at least a LITTLE thought! lol
"And I have the tablet for me! ( stuff I want to do ) ".
now the inflections on the words are a kind of "matter of fact" inflection...........
In other words there is no emphasis on any particular word, just "matter of fact"
And then the lady turns away and gets into the mail truck.
***************
Soooooooooooooooooooooo in terms of "attracting MS centric people who may be considering "Linux" for the first time....
Possibly the plasma tablet software could have AS DEFAULT............ maybe TWO "cashews" that are fixed and would have to be removed by following instructions provided in an included document in a "desktop folder"......
One would be labled:
"work" or maybe "work/school"
and the other:
"Me".
And have "default" applications pop up when the cashew is tapped.
In otherwords Microsith may have done some "group study stuff" and has determined that in the MS centric world that the word "me" makes things all warm and fuzzy and people will take it as "non-threatening" and we might as well capitalize....... sic, lol, on it!
Now of course WE....in our wonderful Linuxy wisdom "everybody knows that"....but NEW people do not NECESSARILY know.... that they can access anything in the menu......
The point being to IMMEDIATELY "attract" and set at ease... people when they first see a plasma tablet.
Just a thought but.......again, even though Microsith does "fling" money at things and has a bajillion "studies" before they do anything....
They did not include that last sentence for no reason.
