    MyOpera services

I have only been using MyOpera about a year or two (not very long) and the main service that I use is mail. I have just taken a look at the MyOpera page just on the off chance and discovered that the powers that be at Opera towers have decoded to discontinue MyOpera as of 1 March 2014.

So,with them not developing their own web browser (just re-packaging Chrome as Opera) and now getting rid of web services. Looks like it is bye bye Opera.

Ive been a loyal Opera user for a few years now. I like the layout of the browser and its the fastest Ive found, but lately Ive been having problems loading a lot of pages and I cant change input method in newer versions of the browser. Its making me wonder if theyve been scaling back development...

Me too. When I first started using Opera, (version 3?) you had to pay for it.

Over the past few weeks I've removed Opera from all my PCs and phones. I really don't see any point in using it on a desktop/laptop now. I understand why there isn't currently a Linux version of Opera being released but I've moved on and Chrome/Chomium have now become my browser of choice.

As for MyOpera, wasn't that just an attempt to build a community for a browser that was used by a minority?

Edit: I've just gone to the Opera site to disable or delete my Opera profile as I really had no further use for any of their services and found that my account has been disabled due to a violation of their terms of service. To find out why or dispute the decision I need to to log in to the forums. Of course I can't because my account has been disabled.
      • Did they warn me that I had violated their terms of service? No.
      • Did they warn me that my account may have been compromised? No.
      • Did I actually do anything that might have been against their terms of service? No.

Guess it really is time to say good-bye to a browser that I had a lot of faith in at one time but was always in a minority in the usage figures.

O had a Opera way back, it is the fastest browser- or at least was... But some sites didn't like it, and I like power in firefox, although I sometimes use qupzilla.

GMX is good webmail with imap/pop3
I also use gmail and iCloud
