I am happy to announce the plans for the first Tanglu release, as well
as the timeframe of our first release.
Tanglu 1.1 (Aequorea Victoria) will most likely by released this year
in December, and receive support for it's core components (everything
you find on the live-cd) until the next release is out (probably
    around two months longer).
It will ship with KDE 4.11, GNOME 3.8 (unless someone steps up to work
on it), Perl 5.18 and various other updated components.
A summary of the planned changes for Aequorea and more information
about the project can be found here:

    Kind regards,

It's an exciting project but I am not jumping ship to it. I am not much of a fan of Debian even with new KDE versions. Once it has matured a bit more I might have a look at it but it doesn't offer anything compelling in my opinion.

              Live-CDs, Installer, Alpha-Releases

We currently don’t do Alpha-Releases of Tanglu, but we create Live-CD snapshots of Tanglu, which are available at releases.tanglu.org (or mirror1, mirror2). These snapshots still have issues and are just early previews. They also ship without and installer, we are still working on that part. Please note that “CD” more or less means DVD or USB-Stick right now (and this won’t change – the expected image size will be around 800MB).

Tanglu uses Netbook as its defaults, not Search & Launch,
Check System Settings > Workspace Behaviour > Workspace, and you will see it is set to Netbook,

Looks very similar to KWheezy 7.2, which is based on Debian Wheezy stable, instead of testing.

KWheezy came within a hair's breadth of snagging me, but they don't have a forum like this one!

yes it is set to netbook ,,,,,and with the "search and launch containment" as the default desktop setting.

                      In Konsole,
                      sudo passwd root
enter a root passwd twice, use then use su.
an installer is not in the DVD yet,

VINNY, there are no passwords in the live DVD, so you have to enable one, hence running
                          sudo passwd root
in konsole, it will ask you for a new passwd for root twice, in a live CD/DVD I use root, as it is simple.
the use su with root as the passwd.

sory I guess I'm to tired right now ,,,,,,the thing was I was trying to enable wlan0 with "ifup" and "ifconfig wlan0 up" but was geting "permission denied" when trying with sudo it asked for the password.....and none of the usuals for a live cd that wanted one would work IE: root, toor, tanglu, ect, ....their did not seam to be a network manager installed
