Well, I surely did think that I posted about this bit of hardware but it may have been when I was going to the Bahamas or Key Largo, there is a post from me using the device and the keyboard interface was lagging a lot.
The post being generally that the device did display the forum.
I heard about it from a friend and since it was SO CHEAP, and ran Android, I figured I could use it to "try out" an inexpensive better tablet than the Zeki.
The MY|eebo, (yes that thingy is a "|" that is normally above the backlash key is:
a) cheap AND has the latest Android!
b) front and back cameras!
c) gets on the net easily
d) using an HDMI cable it easily interfaces with a "smart" High Def Sony television.
(to avoid "burn in" I use the Sony interface for video to "blank the screen".
e) uses "PlayStore"
f) Does You Tube and provides as default .......... A LOAD of "black and white" movies (plust two...... WHAT!! WHAT!!? Blue movies) more about this later)
g) ALLOWS an app that will convert YouTube audio( from a video) to mp3
h) I ALLOWS as default a couple of "streaming media" sites, both Christian.
i) It provides as default a small selection of "classic" and "new" Christian songs. and a couple of free books.
j) provides AS DEFAULT many "live" wallpapers.
K) it is LOOSELY tied to "Christian media"....( note on this later).
And the reason for this post.....
I just plugged in my "Gyration" remote keyboard, it uses a USB dongle...
And it just found it!
I was able to use KingSoft office (from Playstore) to type a document on the device, using the Gyration keyboard.
The keyboard is NAMED in hardware, and sets up automagically.
NOTE: one does have to DEselect the "Goggle keyboard" for the Gyration then to work.
K above: about the "Christian Media."
The "ties" are in the provided Christian apps which can be deleted easily through Playstore.
A couple of Bible apps are provided but that is ABOUT ALL that one can really say is "Christian".... there are two "Bibles" and a "verse of the day" app.
One of the Bible apps has a default push service that says...."hey....want to try reading the Bible it can change your life for the better".
This push service will get in the way of streaming media when one has only the default RAM, (it can be increased, which I have not). I disabled the push service.
I above: This is just mind boggeling considering that it is a "Christian oriented" tablet.
Buried in the hundreds of provided, as default, black and white videos from the fifties... Tarzan, Purple monsters from Mars, Reefer Madness, Hitler Invades Russia etc.
Are two fifties "soft porn" that have a couple of strippers and one which actually shows....FLEETINGLY........."that place" ...lol
Yes I just HAD to watch.....! But really I was blown away, I watched because I couldn't believe that SOMEHOW they were not............deleted...I couldn't really believe that they included two "blue movies" from the fifties. Now, YES.... they are there as part of the package but..... woah!! :0
Anyway this is a GREAT machine to "try out" using a table and works much better than the Zeki about which I also posted.
