    FBI "dropping social media bubbles"

    Hi
I am merely posting this and will, probably, not respond to any commentary.

About the shooter at the Naval Station today.

I happened to be watching the reportage on Fox News and heard this curious phrase from a reporter.

"The FBI is dropping social media bubbles over addresses associated with the suspect."

"They are searching for social media activity which has a first person statement in it, such as "I knew .....".

    An observation:

Methinks that the Gray Geekster really may be the only fellow here who really intuits just what the real capability of the FBI/CIA/NSA can do in terms of ELINT.

Of all of the bloviating that I have read from the many talking heads on the net, I do not remember ever hearing anyone rant about "social bubbles" to trace people, or even a reference to anything like the concept.

Like I said, this post is not intended to create controversy but merely to inform, and to that end I will probably not further post in this thread.
