    Trouble navigating the forum

Is it just me, or is anyone else having problems navigating the forum lately? When I visit the forum and then click on a thread to open it it just times out. Doesn't happen all the time, but much of the time. Not having the problem in any other forums I visit, just this one.

I think I will leave this post up in case anyone else is having this problem, but I discovered the cause. I am using chromium-browser. However i was using it without signing in to google because I use other methods to manage my bookmarks and passwords. When the problem occurred was trying to open a link in a new tab. By signing in to google the problem went away. So for my tabs to open correctly I must be signed in to google!! Maybe it is time to reconsider my choice of browsers.

BTW, my original post was in error, the problem also occurred in places other than this forum.

I'm a tad confused by your statement. I use Chromium (not Google Chrome), and the behavior you described does not affect me. I have a Google account, but never log in to it.

I HAVE noticed this behaviour (in firefox) on the forum ,,,,,I do not know if it is a forum problem exclusively as I do not do that much web browsing to see it happen anywhere else

usually when I see the wheel spinning for a long time trying to load the new tab/page I will hit the X to stop it and then click the link agin and the page will load strate up.........?

I do not understand the behavior, I am merely posting what I observed. Chromium-browser does have a feature to sign in to google in order to sync your browser settings with your google account. I'm blaming this because the problem stopped when I signed in to google. I did not experiment with other browsers so I can't comment on whether or not the same behavior was occurring there.

I've found that I have a hard time getting web-pages to load when the kids are out of school. Apparently, cable is a "shared networked connection" within a neighborhood...
I do not personally use Kubuntu, but I'm the tech support for my daughter who does.

If I remember correctly, the biggest difference between ADSL and Cable internet is what slows them down. With cable - it's number of users. With ADSL - it's distance from the CO (Central Office). When I lived in downtown and had a cable modem, my internet was real slow during business hours but flew after 5 pm.

Now that was just hilarious. Hope those lounge chairs had protection.
