    Blogging.....

The discussion of John C. Dvorak got me to thinking about his debating partner back twenty odd, mayb thirty odd, years ago.

I can't remember the name and was searching and...

Found a LOT of commentary on Dvorak, a lot of it blogs.

I find it curious that I was involved with a certain distribution for quite a few years and many of the people involved tried to make a "free and open source" "facebook" type thing, and a "blog type thing", but it just never got off the ground, for reasons partly of the software, but also illness of some of the people involved, etc.

But, the salient point is that of "Linux" people trying to make free and "safe" things like that.

And, we have here at the forum a place for blogs, merely as an "addendum" to the forum software.. so the "heyday" of people trying to "create" a blog..."standalone?" as it were, I guess is probably somewhat over, but might happen yet.

But even more curious is the number of presentday blogging "sites", apparently paid for by the blogger, for access.

And even MORE notweorthy, to me is...

The, apparent number of READERS of the blogs.

The internet really has created a place where everyone can have their "five minutes of fame" and a thousand people to watch.

There was mention by one blogger, while he was slamming an op-ed piece by Dvorak, about Thomas Paine and his "free pamphlets" that those pamphlets "changed the world".

And, that that...is one of the reasons why a lot of bloggers...do...blog...that they might "change the world" or at least get "click through money"...or just want to rant, or get information out.

The whole thing is just very curious.

    Any comments?

I seldom read them myself because MY OPINION...is so important! lol

but I concur...I seldom read "blogs" unless they are "kind of" verifiably fact based, or "hardware discussion" or...

"just the facts 'ma'am" ... lol

Well then if you enjoy "facts" and "technology" blogs my Liquid Cooled PC might be of interest to you. We will be working on it more later in the week. Why are plastic fish tanks so damn expensive?

You just click blogs on the top of the forum. But since you can't find it on here -->>> Right below your political blogs

Im sorry simon but I don't don't find a blog about "fish tanks", And when I click your link I get "can't go there".

Sorry. Because I am interested in fish tanks and even discuss them in the lecture on "fish" and also in the lecture on "density/bouyancy".

Might be that Simon, inadvertently, set his blog to not be accessible by others. As an Administrator, I can see it.
