Many low information voters here in the US call him a socialist. He is actually a marxist. Happy commie day!

I don't think Karl Marx or any other communist/socialist/Marxist would agree with you there, 67GTA.

      Oh, and happy May Day.
The unjust distribution of goods persists, creating a situation of social sin that cries out to Heaven and limits the possibilities of a fuller life for so many of our brothers. -- Archbishop Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires (now Pope Francis)

Actually as I understand it, May Day (the first of May) is celebrated in and throughout the US. I don't think there are many people here in Ontario, but Happy May Day. I don't understand what the states have against their President but I respect him as I do all rulers of smaller countries. Am I suppose to make a basket?

Are you defining "small" as measure of population or geographic area? LOL

The problem I have with "labor" movements is there is a big difference between fair treatment of workers, and sucking the system totally dry. Sadly, the modern labor movement seems to be all about that latter.

Making sure workers have reasonably safe working environments and a fair wage is good.

Getting paid a high wage, lifetime benefits + pension for a 40 hour a week unskilled assembly line job that a monkey could do is not so good.

What's really galling is when you hear labor unions complain about off-shoring, or all the jobs moving to china. Gee, whoda thunk!?
