Frank.
yes, you are quite correct but, unfortunately, there are some that are unique to the particular ARM and GooglePlay And since I do a lot of work, actual work, on the phone itself, the particular apps or their very close analogues will have to be there for it to be useful to me.
I had VERY seriously considered getting the "inbetween" size phone from Verizon, about a third bigger than a regular smart phone but not the size of a tablet but the thing would just be honkin' big in my trouser pocket, to where I have defaulted for carrying it, but now that I've run across the My|eebo tablet, I throw it in the car or in my briefcase and if I need to do "extended" work I can use it....it isn't a phone but cloud apps such as Box work so fast that they might as well be the same device.
Yes, if the particular apps or their analogues are there then I would jump on it.
What I would really like is for Kubuntu tablet app to be configured for the ARM processor I have.
Going with one of the supported tablets would have been more expensive, and I didn't know if I would actually USE the thing so... kinda messed things up in that way.

If it is written in a high-level language, it should be easy to port them, however. The compiler does most of that anyway.

You'll get a second chance.
