Ill believe it when I see it. Canonical has been making major announcements and then not following through with them for years and years...

Yes, I will but ONLY if it has access to the Google "play store". There is a very good suite of apps therein which I use constantly. And I am posting one in casual talk, fortuitous that this thread was made! lol

But aren't there already MANY apps available for Ubuntu now?

Any idea if there will be a voice-to-text feature?

Will probably have to wait and see. Apps, or the lack of them, may be an issue.

              Hi
yes, you are quite correct but, unfortunately, there are some that are unique to the particular ARM and GooglePlay And since I do a lot of work, actual work, on the phone itself, the particular apps or their very close analogues will have to be there for it to be useful to me.

I had VERY seriously considered getting the "inbetween" size phone from Verizon, about a third bigger than a regular smart phone but not the size of a tablet but the thing would just be honkin' big in my trouser pocket, to where I have defaulted for carrying it, but now that I've run across the My|eebo tablet, I throw it in the car or in my briefcase and if I need to do "extended" work I can use it....it isn't a phone but cloud apps such as Box work so fast that they might as well be the same device.

Yes, if the particular apps or their analogues are there then I would jump on it.

What I would really like is for Kubuntu tablet app to be configured for the ARM processor I have.

Going with one of the supported tablets would have been more expensive, and I didn't know if I would actually USE the thing so... kinda messed things up in that way.

Right. I keep forgetting about that.

If it is written in a high-level language, it should be easy to port them, however. The compiler does most of that anyway.

We're all experimenting with these devices, just like we did with netbooks. My first netbook was good, and I used it for about 4 years before technology passed it by. This time, I bought a GOOD one, and I love it.

                You'll get a second chance.

Yep. That kind of describes my wife. Married just over 35 years now.
