Watch Windows 8 boot Kubuntu from UEFI

Watch as I torture myself. Oh, and "foreign" operating systems are now devices, in the ever-understandable language of Redmond.

    References:

    * Installing Windows 8 followed by Kubuntu on a UEFI machine; adding Windows to GRUB's menu
    * Observing Windows acknowledge that Ubuntu is installed on the machine

nice work .....so once you have a proper efi install of Kubuntu you can boot it that way?
and can you also start it any other way? like from a uefi boot menu?

Presumably on any of the x86 versions, as they all support UEFI. Can't say for WinRT (the ARM version), as I don't have a Windows-capable ARM computer to check.

Yep. That "Advanced Startup | Devices" menu is simply displaying every BootNNNN NVRAM variable that would also appear in the computer's built-in UEFI boot manager.

Lol. Of all times to omit a letter from a word!

I aim to please. Of course, she rather likes that, too.
