At least here in Long Beach CA, USA these red tides are usually caused by chemical run-off from land causing over-feeding of the algae. On top of the fishy smell, it usually kills a large portion of the sea life in our harbor so the whole area stinks of rotting muscles and fish for weeks! -
Apparently this one was caused by an unusual high humidity for this time of year.sigpicComment
