    New movie - Jack Reacher

I have just watched the trailer of Jack Reacher starring Tom Cruise. As a fan of the Reacher books written by Lee Child I was very surprised that they had cast Tom Cruise to play the lead character. Reacher is 6'5" no nonsense ex-militry cop who stands up and helps the vulnerable (especially attractive young women) by getting back at the bad guys, and they cast Tom Cruise to play this role. Talk about poor casting!

I am not too sure if I want to see the film, I have a feeling I will be disapointed that it won't be abything like the books. Most films I've watched that have been based upon books have been disapointing.

I'll still continue to read the books.

Tom Cruise lost all his credibility several years ago and has never recovered with many previous fans. He's an idiot. Lecturing everyone about mental health on national TV, his screw-loose religion, jumping up and down on Oprah's furniture on national TV, his uneducated exchange with Brooke Shields, Matt Lauer, and others, ... He's hardly credible in ANY role. But, as we know, he's still a major star with many (probably many fans who were oblivious to his "real" personality off-screen). Unfortunately, others, like Mel Gibson, is right up their with Cruise for having lost credibility in his roles.

      L. Ron Hubbard created Scientology specifically to dodge taxes, pointing out that religions get exemptions from income taxes and FICA and he wanted to avoid those taxes as well.

The solution for that scam is to remove tax exempt status from all religions and 501c3 groups. You'd see Scientology and many TV hucksters disappear instantly. Personally, I have no doubt that removing tax exemptions for such groups would reduce them to the sincere adherents and do much to improve them and the tax base in America.
