    Color schemes

I thought i should open a new thread insted posting this in screenshots.
Here's a list of colorschemes with screenshots, and how they affect overall look. I've chosen 5 dark ones, and 6 light.

    Default:

    Ambiance:

    Steel:

    Understated:

    Zion:

    Bespin dust:

    Wonton soup:

    Zenburn:

    Zion reversed:

    Lyris:

    Obsidian coast:

Yes, you can do this at home, and yes, there are screenshots on kde-look, but i think it would be nice to have one place that would cover some common ground.
Plese feel free to share your favourites!

What is your general impression with the dark themes? Do they apply uniformly well across all applications?

I'm using Oxygen, a dark theme, and I find it to my liking. It displays well in everything I use.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

I just switched to Oxygen desktop theme and Obsidian Coast color set. It does look nice...much easier on the eyes than all those white photons streaming from the LCD. But, alas, web pages still appear with white backgrounds. Too bad Rekonq doesn't have a "reverse color" mode like some Android browsers do.

The hardest part is getting a dark theme for Firefox to match.

The main problem that I had when I used to use a dark colour scheme was with forms on websites. Many sites that I visit have CSS that specifies the background colour for forms, but doesn't specify the text colour. So I'd have a situation where I was typing light-coloured text (courtesy of my dark colour scheme) onto a form with a light-coloured background (courtesy of the site's CSS), which meant I couldn't see what I was typing into online forms.

If anyone knows of a solution to that problem, I'd go back to using a dark colour scheme in a heartbeat as I find them much easier on the eyes than light schemes.

PS. @wh0rd - try using the OxygenKDE Firefox theme, as it can automatically detect & use your system's specified colour scheme.

I've encountered a few sites recently that don't set the browser's background to white. Such sites are almost impossible to read with Obsidian Coast -- the result is black text on a dark gray background. Sigh...

I never knew that Ambiance is so good looking.
                      Fits my desktop wallpaper well.

This is a modification of roxydoxy style, which I find a little too bright.
