In our state a law was recently passed that outlaws driving and texting.

I suspect that using these virtual devices will also be outlawed, even if their sole purpose is the put a HUD of a GPS map in the air.

But, I'd still love to use one, except that the data charges would go into the hundreds of dollars per month.

Ah, that's that pair of glasses of Google. Now bikers here are not a threat to life only because they're sms-ing, phoning and whatever on their bike, but now they can even start playing shooting games while biking.
And since it's from Google, I guess every 20 seconds you'll get an eye-filling ad, specially made for you. There's a shortage of houses here in Amsterdam. I think that's pretty quick solved with this pair of glasses.
Speeding? No, no, officer, my spectacles said I was allowed to drive 200 here.
And what about viruses? And phishing? What about if your spectacles get hacked and the whole internet can see through your eyes how you make love?
People do everything to get rid of hallucinations, and now I'm supposed to PAY for it? ? ?

Eight years ago I wrote a fly-by-wire PCL hydraulic steering control system for a new kind of ag tractor that an ag engineer was inventing.

I followed him through the patent process and even did some online research before he applied. According to his lawyer all one needs to get a patent is about $10,000. It doesn't seem to matter if "it" was patented before, or how many times. Just word your patent differently, AND BROAD ENOUGH, so it acts as a catch-all. (I.E., good patent troll information, methods that submarine patents used all the time). After he was granted it I talked with him about his patent and asked him if he could afford to defend it if some deep pockets corporation decided to market a tractor similar or identical to his, or defend himself if they sue him if he markets his?

His prototype, completed five years ago, is still the only one of its kind in existence.
