Dunno, but it looks as though, if your comment was correct in another thread, that they are putting all their eggs in one basket for one big push. If it works, then Ubu is here to stay, if not... but he did spend a lot of time on two items, a) scalability b) the hardware manufacturerer can put what they want on the OS with no squawk from ubu.
