I go off and on with wine. Can't take beer any more because of the gluten. Hard cider is nice.

BTW, am I the only one that sees a huge conflict of interest in the entire medical industry?

If a doctor actually cures a patient he will loose a client.

I believe most doctors are conscientious and advocate for the patient but from med school on they are brain washed by drug companies and others who profit from our illnesses. If the doc suggested to me that I may have a gluten sensitivity that was causing all my ills I wouldn't need to come back periodically for more drug prescriptions. I had to find that out from a nutritionist who had just lost her job at the hospital.

Remember that one definition of news is the reportage of things that don't happen very often. So when we see examples in the popular press of scientific fraud, we should remember that the majority of scientific work is conducted with proper protocols and analysis.

That doctors are brainwashed by pharmaceutical companies certainly appears to be conventional wisdom, and it's also true that these companies engage in some truly shady marketing tactics (talk to any pharmacist about the sleazy drug reps they endure), I am unconvinced that the majority of doctors place patient persistence above patient cure. I would need to see a long-term large-sample study before drawing a conclusion that many other people seem all to willing to believe.

Also look at it from this angle; the time when they'll be out of business has yet to come. As it is, they have more and more work to do i.e. *clients*.

This is just one researcher. Red wine has been promoted since the 1960s. Besides, we should always remember that Wine Is Not an Emulator.
