"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

"waiting in the hall" -- translation: they've delivered their bags of lobbying money, a.k.a. "campaign donations", a.k.a bribes, and now they are waiting to make sure the bill passes.

Normally it has been California Democrats that author this kind of drek, but in this case it is a Republican.

And, to bore people to tears.....I have said over and over that the U.S. is going to build an electronic WALL around itself and nobody will be able to get in....well, here it is:

        ***********************
"prevent access by its subscribers located within the United States to the foreign infringing site that is subject to the order." That includes Internet Protocol address blocking and also appears to allow deep packet inspection to restrict access to specific URLs.
        ***********************

We can kiss all streaming media from outside the U.S. GOODBYE........with SOPA.
        And
We have already kissed all streaming media WITHIN the U.S. goodbye except for SOMA FM because of copyright law.
