Re: Build a really cheap computer
The most amazing thing to me about Pi is that it can run HD video. Seriously!

Re: Build a really cheap computer
A cigar box would be HUGE for this thing... better to use a cigarette tin!
I'm thinking you could just stick it to the back of a monitor or TV with a USB port and you're good to go. Think about the MythTV applications! The hard part is finding a really good wireless keyboard that reaches over 15 feet reliably. I wonder if the nice Boxee Box remote would be usable?
No Ubuntu at this point, but you could customize a nice Arch install.

I wonder ... would the power consumption be cut in half if they disabled the two leds?"A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”

I was wondering about the heat too. It's possible the unit may run air-cooled if you add some heat sinks. I'm already on the mailing list so I can get a couple when they go on sale. I wonder what the shipping will be from the UK?

I do believe you guys have found the thing that will excite my son about learning Linux. I've enrolled for notice when it's available. He'll love tinkering with the hardware; when I tell him he has to learn Debian to get the thing to do anything useful, he'll say "cool!"
Thanks for the linky.
