Oh, but to get back to the actual topic of your OP, I'm just hoping I don't need a new drive while the shortage goes on. I suppose I'll cross that bridge if/when I come to it.

My son's ancient HP is about to die. Last month I bought a new Lenovo to replace my wife's already dead HP; got a good deal. That was before the drive shortage. Same-spec machine (500 GB drive) is now $150 more.
(Edited; $400 seemed really high so I reran the configurator. Turns out I picked the wrong model before.)
Me thinks that the woodsmoke's 'internal storage unit' was a bit full when he originally posted!
