Great story! In my mind's eye, I can still see the Oval with 40,000 people on it in May of 1970, before they closed the university. But most times, it was a very nice park-like space.

Ahhh the pleasures of college steam tunnels....did the same thing meself! although we used them mainly to break into the coolers for the kitchens and savour various items such as ice cream and watermelons!
