What it was like before the Flood...

    Hi all...

At one time the Earth was a very different place and not just that there were dinosaurs! This morning I happened to remember the Scriptures from Genesis 1:6-8 and wondered what the waters above the "space" meant. After a Google search, I found these pages...

Re: What it was like before the Flood...

I heard somewhere, probably on the History Channel or similar, that the Flood story(or stories, as the Genesis story bares resemblance to the Babylonian Gilgamesh epic) was inspired by a flood off the Black Sea coast of what is now Turkey at the end of the last Ice Age in 10,000 B.C. (Wasn't there a movie called that not too long ago). As I, as a Catholic, don't take the first few chapters of Genesis literally (Eden would be placed in northern Iraq, whereas the generally accepted origin of humanity is in eastern Africa), I don't think the ark could be found as the materials used would have rotted away. IMHO.

One must also remember the "seiche".

Ok.....how many people that you actually know could direct pigeons to fly overhead as in Ghost Dog .

Does it make God any LESS of a God to part the Red Sea in a "seich" as opposed to what was shown on the film?

COULD YOU......part the water of your Starbuck's Coffee?

Does it make God any less of a God to part the waters in a seich?

No, it doesn't. God uses natural forces as the means to achieve His will.
