film recommendations ? the Bicycle Theif to be on TCM

Most folks will not have heard of it, but TBT is one of the "top ten" films that used to be on everybody's list. It will be on Turner Classic Movies if you have cable this Saturday at 8pm E.T.

I first saw it as part of a "film discussion" series at my undergraduate college.

I'm not usually into "artsy" or "foreign"(for the U.S.) films but this is one of the good ones and if you get a chance, you might give it a look.

Yeah it looks interesting but the Rotten Tomatoes group will probably pan it and it will go down in flames (sic), like the PREVIOUS movie that the libs hate... but then, it's all about those things like doing the right thing and that mushy stuff....

I just notice a CURIOUS thing about it.... the theatre that specializes in INDEPENDENT films here... is not showing it and the mainstream theaters have it booked for a week ....ALL of them......

now...I think I'm right when I found that FireProof was independent.....and this one is independent...

oh................I know...............only certain KINDS of "independent" films are shown in .....independent .... film..........theatres.........hmmmmm

ahhh well, I'm just an ol' hillbilly....don't know nuthin!

but I think I'll take a look see at it.
