Re: Knoppix live DVD is awesome!
It was through Knoppix that I came to Kubuntu.
In 1997 I started with Linux on RH4.1 and by the time when Fedora came out I was no longer happy with it.
Then I realised it was possible to install Knoppix so I did and this showed me the power of deb, a revelation after struggling with rpm, compiling from source was often easier
By upgrading the Knoppix install I had a brief stint with Debian but Ubuntu was from the get-go so much easier!
Two weeks ago I did my first compile in a long time (wxwidgets) and it didn't even solve the issue I was after :P
Knoppix of the day also showed me the beauty of KDE, these days it uses de LXDE desktop that I also use on an old PIII and my experimental partition.
Knoppix is still in my toolbox, they don't have to many releases any more but it 'just works'.
