      Eckert and Mauchly wrote the textbook I used in my graduate physics classes on electronics. It was written inn a very clear style and also made claims about the future of electronics that were spot on, just like the prediction of the 1952 presidential election.

      Mauchly died in 1980 and Ecket in 1995. They both lived to see their predictions come true with the development of the VLSI circuitry and the advances in computer technology. But, I doubt that even they could have predicted the massive transistor density of current day CPUs, nor their compactness and power.
