Netrunner: New Kubuntu based Distro

A heavily customized KDE distribution based on (K)Ubuntu:
Netrunner aims to be for Kubuntu what Mint currently is for Ubuntu.

At the same time, it does not shun to include Gnome/GTK+programs, like Gimp, Firefox, Synaptic and others.

Interesting, but I'm not sure what the point might be. TFA says

It is mono-free, to provide a testcase for a “clean” *buntu that is not depending on a competitor technology.

It's not Ubuntu who added mono, it's Debian. tomboy (which depends on mono) is part of the default GNOME install in Debian Stable.

thanks for your feedback!
Agreed that the first quote is a bit short-worded or unclear,
so I updated the quoted post to make our goal of Netrunner 3series a bit clearer.

Your second quote refers to version 1, which then was still based on Gnome.
Since we switched to KDE/Kubuntu, we simply did not include mono or mono-based apps back in.

To generally sum up, Netrunner tries to be for Kubuntu what Mint is regarded to be for Ubuntu: A highly customized alternative with some different set of features.

having said that, Mint started out as little more than a theme and bundling codecs.....
