Ya know....this is NOT JUST ME....Back when this whole "food pyarmid of eating" was started a lot of teachers said ....what?
And now here we are back where it all started fourty years ago.
I'm not knocking this administration, it could have been the previous or the next....but here we are: fourty years later - full circle.

I use a scan from my mother's cookbook of the fourties but this was the general idea...balance your meals... (this is not my scan but close)

One question that I have to ask though is that if the powers that be think that we are so @#$%^ stupid that we have it beaten into our dear little heads to "eat healthy",.... then we probably need more than some kind of abstract word like "grains" in a pretty pie shape.
Wouldn't the original PICTURE of the foods for all us dolt's be more informative?
But also we must not forget the FIVE basic food groups:
This all got started btw back in 1902, here is a small history of USDA's attempts to get people to eat right with a scan of the original book's front cover and how it lead to the food pyarmid of eating.
