Talked to my Dad some nights back, and as is the case, our conversations take many turns. The Economy came up (by me of course), and in the ensuing discussion, my Dad said that we are living in a Ferengi Culture - "...characterized by a mercantile obsession with profit and trade and their constant efforts to swindle people into bad deals."
As stated in the Bible, 1 Timothy, 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil:"
"How much is enough?!" Ask this of most big Corporations or uber-rich, and they aren't able to give you an answer. They 'want more', always 'more.'
Ulterism - selfless concern for the welfare of others - is sadly, much lacking in our economic culture; and it appears to be getting worse.
