Woodsmoke's OK.... but it's obvious you're not a Monty Python fan!

Monty Python are, IMO, absolutely the best comedy troupe ever!

          That is indisputable!

(The skit I recalled was the one where they competed against each other over who had the most severe upbringing. One had to sweep the streets with his tongue. It's not on YouTube )

No the best part is where King Arthur tries to tell the common folk he was their King and the common folk asked who elected him and he said he wasn't elected that it was by Divine intervention when Excalibur was "given" to him.

Yeah, indisputably the best. What they wrote/performed still fits today!

Always love the below as well.

Re: A frontend for the Command Line.

                yep, nothing like Monty Python!

I was teaching in a church school a few years ago, and I've always started my classes with about a half hour having each student actually introduce themselves, and decided a few years earlier, when I had seen the sketch at the bridge to "make myself sound" like the bridge keeper...

Well the WHOLE class took up on that one! every kid in the class was going through the sketch because they knew the whole thing by memory and....

The DRESSED IN BLACK, politically correct Uriah Heep of the church school, almost exactly like the Uriah Heeps of the public school, burst into the room and railed on the kids about how that movie was evil and a sin and there would be nothing of it in the school...

so...after she left we.............whispered the skit!

                fond memories from many points!

That's why I couldn't find it... I couldn't remember the name of the skit...
I just spent 5 minutes of pure pleasure re-watching it!
                  Thank you!

And that skit was done before Monty Python was created. You'll note that two of the cast in the skit went on to be members of Monty Python.

I didn't know that! I "assumed" that because John Cleese was in it ...
