Researching the Bluefin Tuna population, which inhabits the North Atlantic but breeds in the Gulf, researchers continuously injected a dye 20 meters below the surface near where Deep Water Horizon was for two months, and tracked it out into the Atlantic Ocean. This video shows were that dye went, and how the BP oil spill could spell the end of the BlueFin Tuna, which has experienced nearly a 90% drop in numbers in recent years.

The BP leak may continue for as long as 150 days or more, and in volumes FAR exceeding the amount of dye that was injected. The Gulf environment may not be the only environment destroyed.
