Downloaded and burned the Debian KDE 5.04 "lenny" LiveCD this evening. Everything I was concerned about just worked - graphics, sound, internet (wired yes, wireless no, because it uses WEP and my router is set for WPA2 Personal). Debian is still using KDE 3.5.10 (IIRC). Took me back. Ah, nostalgia. I just can't see myself going back to KDE 3.5.x. though. But, I'll keep it around.

Re: Debian KDE 5.04 "lenny"
You can download Debian Testing (Squeeze) iso's which currently uses KDE 4.4.3, you only need cd1 to install. It shouldn't be long now before Squeeze goes stable. I had Squeeze installed before going back to Kubuntu because running Squeeze while it's in Testing is too much like running a rolling release system, which I don't want. Squeeze was getting several hundred Mb's of updates per week.
You might want to give Mepis a go, it's based on Lenny but has KDE 4.Kubuntu 10.04
