Re: LXDE or XFCE
I like LXDE because it's very fast and the look is actually nice. It's also very nice if I'm using an old PC. Don't know much about XFCE, only tried it once with Xubuntu but was kinda heavy. However I do know that's kinda Xubuntu specific because XFCE is also light. Talking about LXDE, the recently released Lubuntu is also a very nice LXDE distribution out of the box. Anyway that's just my opinion.
I don't think it's about this one vs that one since it all depends on tastes and hardware, no matter what kind of software are we talking about. I still think the best is to just test it for yourself and choose the one that suits you best. Nothing wrong with freedom of choice
