Hey guys, I have just found this thread and seeing that this is a thing, I thought I'd put up here a pic of my kubuntu 15.10 desktop.
I am rolling with Maya theme for the desktop, and have tweaked windows to translucid (not all of them). What you can see here with Dolphin is what they look like when inactive. Active windows have a much better visibility. I also replaced the generic KDE launcher icon with the kubuntu icon.

Here's mine, using a glass theme for the taskbar and application launcher, which I chose because it goes well with my Ori and the Blind Forest wallpaper.

Here is my new Desktop after upgrade to 16.04. Only issue, and minor at that, is the Desktop Theme. This is why I wanted the selector color to be goldish like Enlightenment Gold. It would complement the wallpaper.
