So ... does everyone prefer their default panel / taskbar at the bottom? Who else moves it to the top? That's where I prefer it.
I prefer mine on top. My mouse spends most of the time toward the top of the screen due to menus and such. I find there is much less mouse travel when the panel is up there too.

Very nice. I like dark themes for some reason. The onlt thing that keeps me away from them full-time is that dialogue boxes in GTK apps (i.e. Firefox) get reversed and un-useable :/

Here's my current desktop. Minimalist, but with custom icons and a teminal on the desktop, always at the ready.

            Snowhog,

What widget(s) do you have on the right side? I can't get the picture large enough to make it out.

I'm glad I jumped back to Kubuntu again. 12.04 is working better than ever.

Snowhog, do you mind sharing your conky?

Actually, I have a dual monitor setup. But I'll only show my primary one, since the other one is just a piece of wallpaper and a clock + processor widget.

                    Clean!

                    Busy!

Relatively minor changes to the defaults: Caledonia theme, FormaN windows decoration, KFaenza icons, Nedroid background, Icon Only task manager, Ubuntu font, Kubuntu gear kickoff icon.

                              Is that using oxygen-transparent?

I love oxygen-transparent. At first I thought it might be annoying. But then it really started growing on me. For reasons I can't explain, it feels "comfortable" seeing layers of windows. Weird, but I can't think of any other way to explain it.
