So I amedeatley started to re do it............first I found a big gray cotonball of dust completley blocking the heat sink and CPU fan ........he he so out with all the hardware and a good cleening.

then Gparted live cd and a reworking of the drive.

now my Karmic 9.10 cd and a fresh start for the old girl.........a sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade ........... some medibuntu .......... a little this and that .... (still cant find KDE-4.3.3) but o well.

and .............it's runing just fine every thing seams to work AND to my surprise so dose the 3D stuff .........I realey dident expect that with so little RAM 2-128MB and 2-64MB chips for a total of 384MB RAM

but a pitchurs worth a thousend words so hears the screeney you new was coming...........

          That's a cool story, Vinny!
Hope you don't blame me for plugging dd on this one. This is a PERFECT example where dd can be used to completely wipe the drive, taking it as close to factory-new as is reasonably possible (before partitioning/reinstalling) ...

I hate to be a spelling Nazi, but shouldn't "specks" be "speks"?

            Great job, Vinny!!!

Putting Linux on the old boxes is MUCH better than filling up the junk yards with them or sending them to China to extract the valuable resources while polluting the environment.
