I just wanted to post a note regarding Kubuntu, and my experiences with it. Very Nice! 
I have not used KDE for several years, I ran PC Linux OS for awhile, KDE was at version 3.5.x I believe. At the time it seemed very clumsy on my system, so I switched back to Ubuntu and Gnome and had been running Gnome since. Last night I decided to give Kubuntu another try, and installed it on a different system that I had - 2.4Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 250 GB Seagate, nVidia 256 MB. The new version of KDE is running great, and I love the customization options it gives me! I have not encountered any issues, and everything has been working great.
