It has been along time since I have been logged in. I stay pretty busy programming and no time in forums or blogging.. With that said I was compiled to log in and write my input about Kubuntu.
Installer: By far and formost the best piece of work and setup for installing linux I have ever seen on any distro. I can see very few ways to polish outside of adding a bar at bottom of same window to show format and other whatnots. Outside of that the Installer is intuitive to the degree it places side tabs and shows steps of the install without ever losing or changing the surrounding graphics(Intergration), In this alone allows for a better understanding of the install and a more professional appeal. In return simplifying the install into a understandable process.
Boot menu: Very smooth and polished. I prefer the new 9.10 ubuntu but in blue with Linux label but that is a personal choice and I have done did so for myself.
and the bootscreen is fine and ok in my book.
At the desktop: I have kubuntu 9.10 on netbook and did have it on my amd 3800 desktop until it was stolen, maybe ones that broke in my house will find linux more
valuable then the computer they took. Anyways both installed flawless and boot and ran superb without a single glitch but for minor close. but the updates i have recieve it runs glitch free totally.
Performance is to say the lease excellent. I see nothing but kubuntu advancing on making there distro faster and more efficient.
Now after all the positive and truthful experiences and testimonys of my own I would like to do 2 things. 1 to say here Thank you guys for great coding you do and
2. I want to give 1 concise not rant, or rave or complain but feedback from a user.
The things listed in timelord is key and true on ever aspect. I hope that commitment is accomplished. From what I see kubuntu has the best potiential to take the best respitory and best and growing interface (kde) and if lock s down solid stability will own any other distro hands down.
You have forgive my poor english, I am native american but I have reading and writing level of a 8th grader and the top 3% logic tested in united states. Go figure.
guess its why I develop and dont blog much.
